Seeking suggestions for white people to

show personal and public solidarity with oppressed populations.

I always go out of my way to be friendly and reach out a hand - even deferential.

I wonder if this, too, is objectifying and condescending. What if the feeling behind it is genuine, even if the action is somewhat contrived?

I do not behave any differently with my friends based on their race. I like to believe that I am not biased ( although I recognize that we all have a bias one way or another even if not conscious of it) and treat everybody respectfully until they reveal themselves to not be worth it ( like bigots ).
