On one of the Sunday morning shows Newt said if we are going to condemn the white supremacists demonstrating in Charlottesville, VA and the violence there,
we must also condemn the students across America who demonstrate on college campuses.
He added "Demonstrations began increasing when Obama became President"

(22,166 posts)What point is he trying to make? That common, everyday demonstrations are somehow anti-American/wrong, especially since Obama?
There were quite a few antiwar demos w/ Nixon Johnson etc.;
There were quite a few demos w/ Watts riots;
Kent State demos;
Ferguson demos;
etc. etc. etc.
Is Newt lizard saying that a key part of the American political fabric (demonstrations) wrong or anti-American?
A hypocrite, I think...

Part of the question I had to ask myself was, what difference I would have made,

Newt 'the lizard' Gingrich claims that mayors are pandering to black citizens by removing civil war (confederate statues), claims that removing such statues would be sanitizing history, as well as going on about the intellectual collapse of the left ― that all they (the left) have is this kind of rabid behavior.
Response:
Removal of a civil war statue in St. Louis was not just for pandering to our black citizens...it was for all of us, white, Asian, black, whatever, a great majority of the citizens of Saint Louis who supports our black neighbors in full, to remove a historic and strongly negative and hateful symbol to our black neighbors and friends from our public park here in St. Louis MO (from Forest Park).
I don't think we've collapsed intellectually or exhibited rabid behavior, per Newt G., 'the lizard', instead, I feel proud that our city did this. This is plain old, reaching out w/ our hands and hearts, to our fellow citizens, here in St. Louis MO, black, white, Asian, whatever. All of our neighbors...
As to Newt 'the lizard' claim that removing such statues would be sanitizing history, GOOD!. Nothing wrong in removing hate, and its' lingering effects...there's going to be enough of this material in private hands, where it belongs, out of sight.
I don't think I'd allow him/Newt G. to visit our city...he doesn't sound very neighborly...
