What happened in Charlottesville, was once my weekly 'nightmare scenario'

Along with attending several nationally organized protests, every Sunday, during W’s term in office, a stalwart group of us would gather, in Flint, for a demonstration that took place on ‘The Triangle’. That is a patch of land bordered by two heavily traveled roadways, and a connecting access road. We received many supportive horn honks and ‘thumbs up’ from passing motorists but we also received our share of verbal abuse and middle fingers. More than once, a gun was waved, or even aimed, at us. And once, someone made a play at running their car into us, laughed, and then swerved and sped away. That was when I realized just how easy it would be for some nut job to compensate for his cowardice by deciding to take most, if not all of us out. But it didn’t deter us. Not one bit. Unfortunately, now my nightmare has occurred in Charlottesville.
