(23,155 posts)They are threatening the whole country for confronting the terrorism, hate and traitorousness coming out of the WH. They think they won and they don't want to give up until we have tealiban law totally in place. They love sessions and drumpf and bannon and miller because they are their type of hater. The folks at the WH are chickenshits and use the asshole neo-nazi, alt-right as their storm troops to try and normalize their tactics and threaten us if we do anything to try and stop their trajectory.

(2,548 posts)United States equivocate and equate these shitbags with anything American?
United States soldiers died ending white supremacy, genocide and the evil of political hate in nazi Germany. These assholes are spitting on the graves and honor of those soldiers. They have declared war on America and are using terrorist tactics in furtherance of their evil agenda, with the blessing of Trump. Trump's statement legitimizing neo nazis delegitimizes him as president, and even calls into question his humanity.
They sow the wind, they WILL reap the whirlwind.

(2,697 posts)The Nazis tried to kill my father during WWII. He was in the American military, happened upon a group of them relaxing before a fire. They saw him and scrambled too late for their weapons. Dad and his partner took out 7 of them before the Nazis could fire back. Dad never told me about this until I had returned from Vietnam.
Our draft dodging coward of a worthless POS president has now numbered himself among those who, if not actually supporting them, choose to enable this lowest peeling of scum in American society. I want to scream at Trump and his Foxy friends that it is not about the violence, it is about the genocidal beliefs and intent of these scumbags. I wonder if Idiot in Chief views the uprising in the Warsaw ghetto as a case of violence from many sides?

(985 posts)How would the 2nd amendment crowd feel about BLM behaving like "freedom loving patriots". I suspect the police wouldn't afford them the same leeway to continue their demonstration that the armed white nationalists get.

(81,459 posts)Gratitude to your dad and to you for noble service to country. Thank you for pointing this out. We need to hear these stories. And to be reminded - who the REAL American heroes and leaders are.

(63,224 posts)The kneejerk reaction of idiot racist fuckheads and their enablers is to equate BLM with these dog-anus-licking Nazis.
When I pointed out that this is normalizing Nazism, they immediately whine "How is it normalizing? I'm saying that racism is wrong!"

(800 posts)there something wrong with people who march around with swastikas, I can't think of a better way to make a political movement a nonstarter.

(985 posts)False equivalencies don't get more absurd than this. If you look at any message boards that right leaning people post on, for the last year, their number one villain has been "antifa", which they feel demonstrates the intolerance of the left.
I've never seen a Democrat mention them in conversation. Some college kids broke a few windows and flipped over a car in Berkeley and every right wing internet outlet gives them giant headlines for months, playing them up to be the Viet Cong.
It gets depressing how easily led and willfully ignorant the other side can be.

(14,587 posts)These people aren't proud Americans. They say they want to take America back, but from whom? Other Americans? People of color? Legal immigrants? This is my America too, and these nazis stand against EVERYTHING this nation should stand for.
I have written my Senators and US Rep. to publically denounce this right wing act of terrorism and the nazi sympathizers who have driven this wedge of hatred among us. I also will be calling my Governor to order flags in my state be lowered to half mast because of the death of Heather Heyer at the hands of these scum.

(51,311 posts)predominantly Jewish neighborhoods. If that isn't anti-American and anti-humanity, nothing is.
HOWEVER, sometimes in the US we have to accept that the reprehensible (watching someone die, or even encouraging it, without calling for help) and the evil (Nazis in full regalia rallying in public) are nonetheless legal.
And most importantly, we need to accept that a defense of the Constitution ("Right to assembly," e. g.) is not synonymous with approval, with like-mindedness, with anything other than that basic point.
Should decent people then simply remain quiet, "do nothing"? Well, the Constitution gives opponents to Nazism equal rights to speech and assembly. Counter-rallies, Tweets, editorials, massive media condemning, personal shunning, economic boycotting, voting---all legal retaliation.
It is perhaps a shame and an error of the first magnitude that we have not emulated Germany's making any show of Nazism illegal, but it is where we are today.
P. S. My father won a Bronze Star and a Silver Star (the latter for bravery in attacking a German bunker) in the Battle of the Bulge. I have been to Dachau. I exalt the actions of the Israelis in the thrilling capture of Eichmann ("The House on Garibaldi Street" ), the stunning rescue in Entebbe, the covert operation to hunt down the murderers of their 1972 Olympic athletes ("One Day in September" ), etc.
Frankly, I wish a very painful death upon all Nazis, in whatever form and nationality they now take.
Thus, I state my case above not lightly or ignorantly, but I hope at least cogently.
