Just Saw Al Gore Interview on C-SPAN/Netroots Nation

Discussing his film and the "climate movement".

Quite impressive. I recommend catching any rebroadcast.

Unrelated, but also on C-SPAN, Netroots Nation invited guest, Elizabeth Warren gave a rousing speech to attendees.

Elizabeth Warren Takes Aim at Moderates and Generates Chants of Warren 2020

'Senator Elizabeth Warren used a speech to a grass-roots conference Saturday to take direct aim at Democrats’ diminished moderate wing, ridiculing Clinton-era policies and jubilantly proclaiming that liberals had taken control of the party. While not invoking former President Bill Clinton or Hillary Clinton by name, Ms. Warren sent an unambiguous message that she believes the Clinton effort to push Democrats toward the political center should be relegated to history....

This thread is about Al Gore. Gratuitous Clinton bashing is why we have Trump now.

I'd wouldn't hesitate to support him if he were to run in 2020.

She mentioned the 1990's to bash Clinton but doesn't mention where her focus was at the time.

We should have a strong Democratic bench to choose from. Hopefully some folks on the left would have learned the lessons of "Election 2016" and wholeheartedly support our nominee.

We might need someone with experience to take over after this "outsider" disaster. Trump should have disabused people of those notions for good. Al Gore might be a great experienced bridge to let some younger candidates develop without being savaged and ruined in the process.

thoughtfulness and fulsome leadership qualities. He was so inclusive and educated on the historical events of the grassroots of this nation. He is a true leader. He could heal divides.

OTOH, I found Warren to be very clichéd and divisive. I'm pretty sure you have to actually vote for Democrats to call yourself the "heart and soul" of the Democratic party. She was also factually incorrect about the Clintons. People should be honest that the "rigged" system is due largely to the GOP remaining in power so they can continue their agendas, so -- vote for Democrats.

About Gore's leadership, that's what comes through when I saw his new movie just last week. It puts faces to situations and shows his leadership with the Paris Climate Agreement. A lot of storytelling, which again goes back to the grassroots he cultivated over a couple decades to make this movement mainstream. I'm going to see it again soon!

Thanks again for this heads up about his NetRoots appearance. Love Al Gore.

what kind of Democrat would serve our country best. As things stand right now, it's Gore over Warren.
