who spent 3 years fighting Nazis in WWII. Landed at Omaha Beach and eventually made it to Germany and eventually came back.
I kept wondering were he alive today how crushed he would be to see our billionaire fucking president throwing cover for the Nazis that helped make him president.
Were he not already dead it may have killed him.
ETA - just had to get that out.

He hated Nazis. In fact I recall watching Raiders of the Lost Ark with him at the movie theater and when Indy said "Nazis I hate those guys" he piped up "your dam right!! " (Quite loudly) Which got a laugh from others there.

(46,166 posts)My dear fil fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was born in Germany in 1925 and came to America around 1928. His dad fought in WW1 in the German army and got the family the heck out of Europe. Because of his place of birth, the U.S. Army gave my fil the choice of serving in Europe or the Pacific theater. He chose to fight in Europe. He was 19 and he came home, thank goodness.

I wish I could know his thoughts now. I believe he would be profoundly shocked. He followed politics closely, and would be disgusted by Chump, I am very, very certain.
