Right wing talking heads say we're dead, apathetic, floundering, indifferent, a lost cause, forlorn hope, extinct.
Well we're dormant true, but really none of the above; no sense in spitting in the wind, let trumpism run its course, we'll resurrect next year, as the political pendulum swings high.
Leonard Cohen, Montreal Canadian died last year, more known for songs Hallelujah & Suzanne (takes you down to a place by the river) ie Judy Collins, wrote the lyrics for the current democrat 'fight' song for this year - a good song sung, worth a listen:
Everybody Knows
Leonard Cohen
Everybody knows that the dice are loaded
Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed
Everybody knows the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost
Everybody knows the fight was fixed {antiquated electoral college}
The poor stay poor, the rich get rich
That's how it goes
Everybody knows
Everybody knows that the boat is leaking
Everybody knows that the captain lied
Everybody got this broken feeling
Like their father or their dog just died
Everybody talking to their pockets
Everybody wants a box of chocolates
And a long-stem rose
Everybody knows

(2,708 posts)Yeah,, she did a great job, and johnette has a great voice which can, in 'everybody knows', only be heard in the last minute. Not that she didn't do a beautiful job of the song altogether.
She reminded me of LP - Laura Pergolizzi (born March 18, 1981) is an American alternative singer and songwriter, originally from Long Island, New York, who I once thought & still do has the best voice in the world. And from a 110 lb body it's difficult to fathom how or why.
I suspect you've heard of her, but to continue our 'dueling banjos', halo is below (courtesy of beyonce'), and someday, tokyo sunrise, and into the wild are recommended. Into the wild was used by a bank, citi bank was it? on a commercial maybe 5 10 years ago.
