with the tri-color stripes, and then the combination of beret w/double breasted blazer? Strange.

That is right.

The Green Berets earned the right to wear it.

It doesn't mean so much when everyone wears it.

Real hats of some kind would have been better.

Baseball caps would have looked better.

But the other uniforms that the US athletes will compete in look comfortable and sharp.......... and they make the athletes look very much like they work for the US Post Office. And that should not be read as an insult to US Postal workers.

Their actual legs go further down than the picture shows, I think.

The men's jackets are shaped different, square at the bottom.

The men's jacket doesn't cover their rear ends.

At a glance they are ridiculous looking. The mens outfits look very metro-sexual, and the woman looks like a stewardess. The coats and berets look too tight and conservative and the polo logo is way too elitist. Maybe its just the photo, but I not seeing athleticism or competitiveness showcased, more like the style of conformity evident on 1930's fascist print propaganda. The whole 'look' looks pretentious. (Though something I'd expect from Ralph Lauren) JMHO
