More like emerging markets

To be fair, the MIC doesn't create these conflicts, they leverage them. In all of history, the warriors have sought out the creation of weapons to fulfill certain tasks. Tactics tend to proceed weapon development. Weapons development tends to react to the battlefield, not create it.

War doesn't happen because the tools exist. Tools exist because war happens.

History is our friend. The profitable aspect of war fighting has always encouraged and lobbied for more.

Since the dawn of time.

Name the wars that were started because the MIC wanted to increase sales.

The number of wars we've fought even though we were horribly unprepared is large. Only after they started did the profit makers show up. What Ike warned about was that a system had been created where the wars were unnecessary. There was a tight cooperation between the funders, the fighters, and the factories where they all benefit even without actual war.

Since the MIC didn't really exist until the '50s, I'd say most of them. All wars have profiteers, but the American Revolution wasn't started by people wanting to sell guns. Neither was the American Civil War. Truth is, neither were the crusades, although they were after bounty, but they weren't looking to start an arms industry.
