I know what Manafort said when he realized what was going on.

"You can't do this".

I am sure he made this response to his attorney when he got on the phone;

"They can't do that"

Sure Trump said the same thing.

Funny thing is if they knew any regular joe they could have told them that is exactly what they can do if you try and get cute with a federal prosecutor.

Guessing that Flynn was a better listener when his attorney gave him the facts of life.

to turn on trump. They each would have separate, independent information, but I bet it crosses over. I wonder if both manafort and flynn are worried about the other turning first.

I'm going to enjoy imagining this for a while tonight. Ticking off what they know and prioritizing worst to least. Manafort might have some deep tax evasion problems. These guys are so motivated.

Pretty clear that Manafort got caught money laundering.

Didn't hold up his end of the bargain. FBI showed up to get what Paulie promised them.

Just a guess.

All Mueller has to do is turn over his file to Eric Schneiderman. I have no doubt that they can connect a fair number of Manafort's misdeeds to the State of New York. Manafort is a fool if he doesn't roll on somebody higher up because he'll never be off the hook.

And did you happen to notice that Trump's fave newspaper, The National Enquirer, has just started publishing trash about Manafort - almost certainly at Trump's (or Bannon's) direction? This strongly suggests that Trump has decided to distance himself as much as possible from Manafort, which is what he always does. He's never loyal to anyone and it's unlikely that Trump would pardon Manafort - who no longer has much reason to protect Trump.

No way a guy like that would try to hack it in prison...even in a "country club".

Just something about him struck me as slimey. From the first time I saw him I felt this way. Sometimes (actually, many times) our first impression pegs the situation exactly right.

I am so eager to get to the heart of this whole saga, but I know there may be many more months of this before we find out the details. For whatever reason, however, it does feel like this is coming together rather quickly. If Congress is not going to do anything to stop tRump from getting thousands of people killed and setting off WW III, let us hope that Mueller gets him removed for his crimes. If we're really lucky, a bunch of other republican congressmen will go down with him.

They are all slimy. Not one of them seems to have any redemptive qualities. Running down the partial list:

Manafort : Knee deep in Russian crime.
Lewindowsky : slimy used car salesman, pushed a woman reporter trying to do her job.
Bannon : Ran Breitbart after its namesake founder imploded. Lennonist scum who wants to destroy the fabric of government.
Conway : Takes lying to an art form, a horrible disgusting art form. No conscience.
Miller : Repressed racist boy who never grew up. He is the White Supremacist version of Grover Norquist.
Trump kids : Stupid, spoiled, complicit fools who are following in daddy's toxic footsteps.
Melania : Seems like she sold her humanity for material comfort. She may be a victim after all, but she is willing to ride with her man, and that makes her tainted and disgusting.
Gorka : Neo Nazi filth. Fake intellectual huckster.

Okay, I'll stop there. I am getting nauseous. You get the picture. Trump surrounded himself with people as vile as he is. Anyone willing to team up with Trump has to be vile.

What else would we expect from the guy who has pulled off the biggest con job probably in American history? Can you imagine how history is going to treat him? I told my husband tonight that it is apparent that part of his aim is to make his mark in history. But his narcissism has robbed him of the ability to be a good, decent leader. All he cares about is the adulation. Well, that and being the richest guy on the planet. Or at least fooling a lot of people into believing he is. 😉

I can't wait for his scam to be revealed. I shouldn't be so gleeful at the prospect of his humiliation, but I am. If I could be part of the jury to send him away for a long time, I'd gladly volunteer. 🙃
