He promised fire and fury if North Korea made any more threats. Well, there it is. Does Trump start World War III over a dictator's words, or does he back down and crank American credibility down to -1?

Well played, Mr. President. Go read another folder full of laudatory clippings and screen shots. You've earned it.

not of their own making?

Well, in fact, this is of Trump's own making. The only satisfaction I can have is knowing his precious golf time is now being disrupted.

May he rot in hell (and not take us all with him)

This is what happens when career diplomats and foreign policy experts, people with decades of experience, are pushed to the side.

Trump backed himself into a fucking corner. If he moves the goalposts he will be severely ridiculed. He will try to say he was "only kidding" and "not really serious", but the presidency is not some joke. Time to tell him to take a real vacation off the grid while you work together with Democrats who know how to fix things diplomatically.

NK knows of they do that, it would ensure their destruction. Kim may be nuts, but he's not that stupid.

On Guam. Hawaii or the west coast is more likely if he wants to go out in a blaze of "glory".

And Trump won't launch a preemptive nuclear attack. If NK hits US soil though, he will.

NK may miscalculate and push Trump too far. Thats the real danger. I dont think Kim would launch since he would lose his country. For decades they have been used to make over the top declarations knowing it makes them look tough domestically and that no sane US president would attack them.
Unfortunately for them and us Trump is not sane.

Maybe because they are gradually escalating the tension instead of shooting their entire, errrrr, bolt all at once.
