Kim responds: North Korea seriously considering strike on Guam: Reports, citing state media

North Korea said on Wednesday it is "carefully examining" a plan to strike the U.S. Pacific territory of Guam with missiles, just hours after U.S. President Donald Trump told the North that any threat to the United States would be met with "fire and fury".

A spokesman for the Korean People's Army, in a statement carried by the North's state-run KCNA news agency, said the strike plan will be "put into practice in a multi-current and consecutive way any moment" once leader Kim Jong Un makes a decision.

A spokesman for North Korea's military told KCNA that it would carry out a pre-emptive operation if there were signs of U.S. provocation.

Naval Base Guam is a strategic U.S. naval base located on Apra Harbor, Guam. In 2009, it was combined with Andersen Air Force Base, to form Joint Region Marianas, which is a Navy-controlled joint base.

Threatening Guam is less frightening to the baby at the top of NK. It's a little island a long way away from him, but close enough to hit, and that will show Trump. So there.

Maybe even one with conventional weapons, would be met with a overwhelming nuclear response. For one thing, if missiles were detected heading for Guam, we would have to assume they were nuclear-tipped. The US response would have to be massive to neutralise all the long range artillery pointing at Seoul. Kim would be signing his country's death warrant. If he doesn't know that then he is tickling the tail of a tiger.
