The GOP presidential campaign has been reeling following increased scrutiny

Someone pushed the panic button in Boston, judging from the way Mitt Romney's presidential campaign has acted over the last 24 hours.

"The Obama campaign appears to be stuck in their own 'groundhog day,' repeating the same, debunked charges they've waged for weeks," said Ryan Williams, a Romney spokesman, via E-mail.

The day even culminated with an assist from The Drudge Report, pushing a shiny object before election observers – that former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice had become a surprise vice presidential front-runner, in an attempt to change the burgeoning narrative.

The Romney campaign then spent Friday going after the Obama campaign for essentially being mean when they said they wouldn't be.

Nice dovetail on Krugman's comments yesterday about government vs business.

"In business, if you feel wronged or slandered, you demand a retraction or threaten a huge lawsuit. "No one will retract an article and it makes you look like a whiner when you demand that."

Pretty much hits the nail on the head. From a fairly conservative mag, too.

The take away is that Rmoney is in a bit of trouble here and Obama is wearing him down with all these revelations.

I agree. The Obama team is playing things wonderfully.

Romney personally signed and authorized a $75 million deal as CEO of Bain well after 1999. There seems to be a bottomless well of evidence.

I imagine there are people in the business community with whom Romney did business who are tipping Corn off. It doesn't sound like Romney made many friends.
