I am proud to be liberal. I am proud to be a Democrat. I am on the side of truth and justice.
We shall overcome the enemies of truth and justice in spite of any contrivance or treachery. No Russian oligarch or alt right racist or cult follower will defeat us.

(47,209 posts)But maybe a bit too polished - this was comparing him to Kamala who I thought seemed more genuine, less rehearsed. Some dude tried to shame me for saying that- claiming it was a racist dog whistle. Shameless!
I like Booker, he's my damned senator. Was just saying I think Harris is off the charts, charisma wise.

(67,782 posts)Chris Murphy is a normal, down to earth guy. When he ran for Senate against billionaire Linda McMahon, there was a debate about 5 miles from here. She showed up in a stretch limousine with the blackened windows closed. Murphy's wife drove him to the debate in the family Subaru, he hung out the passenger window waving to us.
Richard Blumenthal is a multimillionaire, but may be the most liberal/progressive of the three (a la the Kennedys and the Democratic Rockefellers)
John Larson grew up in a public housing project, and worked as an insurance broker before going into politics.
Quite a cross-section of Democrats, all three are great.
I can't wait for Deval Patrick to decide to run for something again soon. He was a very popular Governor for two terms (I didn't realize he was also in Clinton's administration as Asst. Attorney General)
We'll see what the future has in store for Kamala Harris and Corey Booker, I can see both of them going far.

(11,746 posts)I didn't want to believe it at the time but he said that when you boil it all down what you get from "conservatives" is racism. At that time racists weren't doing so well.
Fast forward to today and sadly racists have recovered.
Why do radical leftists attack Kamala Harris, Patrick Deval, and Cory Booker? Why were they so obnoxious about President Obama?

I don't understand all this broo-ha-ha over a few Democratic politicians who aren't running for President. Is this a push to garner support for them, so they will run? Have they expressed interest in running, but the party said no? I don't get it.
What's intentional?
Maybe I should just quit reading these posts about Harris and Booker.

(6,594 posts)But not in the primary given any better choice. If he had run last round I might have voted for him in the primary for pragmatic reasons, dems had a no win scenario in 2016 with the slate of candidates we were handed. Had Bernie won he would have been about as effective as Carter, and of course Clinton is america's favorite sin eater so she was never going to be an easy win. Having her at the helm during 2018 and 2020 was also a scary proposition with redistricing coming up.
Trump is the worst of all world and there is a real chance he fucks us and the world for good. However if this ball keeps rolling and he drags the party down far enough we might win enough by 2020 to get aggressive about climate change and save the future of the human race. We are down to the last chances if we don't swing big in 2020 game over for America and the planet.

(6,594 posts)He really is a little too comfy with Wall Street in my opinion and I've thought so even back when he was mayor. That being said bankers didn't carry that woman out of her house while it was on fire, or shovel those sidewalks. Then again he tenure of mayor was not what I call a resounding success. (although What can you expect from Newark?)
Now Deval is beyond amazing, and a super nice guy to boot. First time I met him we ran into eachother on the street and we both did a double take because I literally look just like him if he had been in his 20's in 06. I was doing some work in the north east fundraising with the DNC at the time so I got to know him a little bit over the primary at event here or there before I headed west for the rest of the cycle and he always remembered me and made a point of letting me (his younger twin) know he appreciated seeing me working for the party.
