Mitchell was talking about Romney having presided over outsourcing of jobs while at Bain. Sununu said that was untrue, that the outsourcing occurred after 1999 when Romney left. That was before the Boston Globe and Mother Jones stories broke. Sununu was openly laughing at Andrea Mitchell and she just took it without responding.

I generally favor civility in conversation, but since Andrea chose to cut off the President's remarks in order to interview Cucinelli, well, as my dad used to say: If you don't want the apples, don't shake the tree.

That was really embarrassing. There were so many lies in what Ken Cucinelli was spouting, and she just sat there dumbfounded, like GWB, and then when Cucinelli finished repeating everything over and over again for like what seemed an eternity, she couldn't even speak coherently. She is NO host.

She stated the FACT that only a small percentage of small business owners would see a tax increase. He responded "that is a lie" while spouting nothing but lies himself. She had no response. Pathetic.

Her lack of response means nothing. The damage is done.

That fellow just made a lot of Mitchell's friends in the media very pissed off.

And the last thing the GOP needs right now is more enemies in the media.

I'm sick and tired of those in our pathetic tv "news" media letting Repugs repeating false talking points over and over with no pushback - especially from anyone on MSNBC. That guy also claimed that president Obama wants less rich people and is engaged in class warfare. I guess she can't dare say anything about that bullshit because she wants to appear balanced or whatever but I want news to have a responsibility to the truth. Is that too much to ask?

I will be more than happy with the blow back the GOP gets over this from the rest of her colleagues for years to come.

The GOP will wish they could unring this bell.

But they can't.

I think you may be reading too much into that exchange. He didn't specifically call her a liar. He said the fact she was giving was a lie. I'm pretty sure she it started off with a qualifier as if she wasn't making the claim but others are so his response was not really directed at her at all but more to the claim that only a small percentage of small business owners will see a tax hike. Now if he had straight-out said "you are a liar" then you may have a case. That's not what happened, but who knows, maybe she took it personally and there will be retribution.

She asked the question in a manner which allowed him to easily respond with the "many small businesses are sole proprietors" ... but instead he smacked her in the face with a wet fish!!

She sat their with a dazed look, as he continued to prattle off insane RW talking points.

It was great. She loves to throw softballs to these folks, and this time the guy hit it right back into her forehead.
