Here's the key part:
"I think the gravamen of the original complaint was, was there collusion, to the extent you're moving beyond collusion with Russian operatives or Russian interests or the Russian government itself, and into that which doesn't seem to have a direct tie to Russia, then these questions are in fact raised. It becomes a litigable question that people are going to sidewalk about and disagree about it. I don't think it's clear one way or the other, but i do think it is a certainly a serious matter."

(21,850 posts)Starr was supposed to investigate Whitewater and he ends up investigating consensual sex.
He covered up sexual assaults as president of Baylor University.

(3,335 posts)a victim in any way by President Clinton, as they were both adults and the relationship was consensual, I think she was "victimized" and violated in the worse way by Ken Starr when he published his report in the form of a book for all the world to see, and see they did. That report was the seediest, non-consensual public report ever issued about a non-fictional character and Starr did it to prove as a member of the Moral Minority that people who have sexual relations outside of marriage and outside of church sanctioned missionary style intercourse deserve to be publicly humiliated for their transgressions. I'm sure Ken Starr still uses that report for self gratification.
I know the Far Right will say, "But Clinton lied under oath." The truth is the questioned never should have been asked "under oath" or otherwise, once Starr had interviewed Lewinsky and determined that the relationship was consensual; not rape, not sexual harassment in the workplace, etc. The question did not deserve an answer. The "CRIME" occurred when Starr decided that their consensual sexual activities deserved to be exposed because it was "SIN". No woman deserves to be humiliated in that way by the government for fear of being jailed and Ken Starr threatened both Monica and her mother with prosecution, if they didn't tell him every seedy, sordid detail of that relationship. If I were Monica's mother, I would not have told him anything and would have encouraged my daughter to do likewise. I would have rather been jailed than to be humiliated and ashamed to show my face in public for the next 20+ years as a result of what Starr released to the public. Her children will read that report some day.

Then Lucyanne cashed in and became a right wing media pundit with the obligatory speaking fees and all that.

(3,335 posts)passed it on to the Special Prosecutor, Ken Starr. Goldberg also had two sons; one who worked for his mother's company; and her other son, who seemed like he was a deadbeat and gossiper like his Mom, and that son (shortly after the incident was revealed) was instrumental in passing on the gossip information as well. The deadbeat son, was always on the news/political talk shows and under his name they always said Jonah Goldberg, Son of Lucianne Goldberg, as if at his age that was his only claim to fame.

(13,390 posts)is how I read that. "It becomes a litigable question that people are going to sidewalk about and disagree about it" as in it is not in the best interest of the investigation to have an outraged public calling their congress members about it as if it is just another vote in congress. It's bigger than that and public pressure is not going to be helpful when we want congress to look at the facts without thinking about what their constituencies think about them.
