Can some of you ask your GOP friends and family what they think of Trump

admitting the "wall" is not important to the Mexican president.

Admitting on the record that he used it as a tool to get their votes.

Can some of you ask them and report back here, DYING to hear what they say.

I dont talk to them anymore so I cant help on this one.

One is happy that he is deporting Mexicans. One is happy that he appointed a conservative to the Supreme Court and hopes for another. Two watch too much Fox to even know what is going on. And one is happy that he stirred up Washington as promised, but is losing patience at his incompetence.

Good question, but I have to guess these people work on not being informed, so I doubt they even know.

or are true single issue voters. One I know only cares about abortion. Doesn't care if the world goes to hell, since it's a fallen world anyway, but God really wants those fetuses to enter this terrible world.

He's a bible thumper, but he is nice about it and I can defend my views very effectively without upsetting anyone.

My 74 year old Republican aunt and I speak virtually every day. Maybe every other day she mentions something on the local Channel 7 here in Miami, which is the FOX affiliate. She doesn't have cable. She watches Channel 7 exclusively other than football season when she calls me once per week to ask what station the Dolphins are on, and at what time.

Unlike myself she does have a smart phone now and her new right wing friends from church forward her links that praise Trump and condemn Democrats. She takes those links at gospel, along with anything on Channel 7, and refuses to believe or care about any other version.

My aunt has told me several times that she doesn't want gays kissing in the pew in front of her in church, and she is thrilled that Trump is building the wall to keep out all the murderous rapists. She may have heard Trump say he would pay for that wall at some point. Maybe not. It obviously didn't make an impression on her because the pay for build aspect has never come up.

That's about it. The day to day Mueller stuff that is so popular around here hopefully will have actual consequences for Trump but we're nuts if we try to pretend his stupefied base is following along with loyalty in the balance or fluctuating daily.
