Nixon wouldn't need Romney to release his Tax Returns

Here's something cool about the government...

Barack Obama is ultimately the chief executive of Treasury, and thus of the IRS.

He could just tell his secretary to get on the phone and have all of Romney's tax returns on his desk by noon.

But he cannot do that because it would be illegal.

The information is there... it is just a couple of passwords away from the computer on Obama's desk. But it might as well be in a vault under the sea.

That's cool.

And we probably have Richard Nixon to thank for that. If he had not done just that sort of thing ("Send me Jane Fonda's last five tax returns&quot the protections would probably not be as rigorous today.
