Make no mistake about it, these people hate everything America supposedly stands for: The Constitution, the rule of law, honesty and a sense of being on a common journey. They are starstruck, not by the cheap glitter of their idol's bad suits and cheap golden hair, but by his overt racism and bigotry.

(13,427 posts)Everything about that prank was outstanding. It was simple, clever, harmless and hilarious with the perfect venue and "victims." I just don't see anyone surpassing it any time soon.

(16,993 posts)every person who still supports traitor trump, and especially people who take the time and effort to go to a rally to show their support, are traitors. I don't know how they can look in a mirror and not see a traitor looking back. Racist, bigoted traitors at that.

(27,817 posts)When they turn on Trump, and they will, mark my words, it's really going to be ugly.
You know, I'm an angry person too. I'm angry about the 2000 election, I'm angry about the 2016 election, and considering my party won majorities both times, I should be angry.
Nevertheless, the last thing I want to do is go to some sociopathic rally that looks like it has the potential to turn into a raging mob at any moment.

(590 posts)This is why it's important to impeach Trump. Pence won't get this kind of enthusiastic reaction, even doubly so since he won't have been elected president and an impeachment will have occurred (weighing on the Republicans generally).

(2,786 posts)After Trump called the Russia investigation a hoax he only got a handful of claps and the people stand behind him had a pretty neutral reaction for the most part. Maybe they just cannot get as worked up over Trump's lies. Yes they are American haters though.

(5,810 posts)They have been conditioned by tRump to disregard anything that conflicts with their world view. He has brainwashed them to believe he has done no wrong and if they hear otherwise, it is fake news. I know that most Americans were behind Nixon until late in the investigation but they didn't have Nixon out in front telling them to ignore all but him. Oh, I know he claimed, "I am not a crook!" But trump's tactics have been taken to a whole new level. And Fox News has been his echo chamber to spread the propaganda.
I keep hoping that when findings from Mueller's investigation are revealed, along with evidence, maybe they will turn on tRump. And yowzer, I would not want to be in his boots when that happens. The level of anger he will face won't be pretty and is not something he can just ignore. A rally won't fix it. He will be desperate and will make more mistakes, most likely by lying to the grand jury. He is pathological in his habit of lying so he can't stop any more than he can stop breathing. But Mueller will know the truth before tRump ever opens his yap.
So yea, tRump will be going down. It's the time between now and then that scares me most.

(36,109 posts)I honestly think that the average rabid racist rapture-ready Trump supporter at these rallies did not vote for Trump. I doubt they voted at all. I think they pride themselves as outside-the-system, and sick fortune accidentally brought Trump into the white house where they can now 'come out.'
I just don't see these people ever organizing to the point of making lasting changes in the US
I think they'll slink back under their rocks after Trump is gone and wait for a sign from a new dear leader

(5,810 posts)He goes to prison for the rest of his grubby little life. I am sick to death of him. I saw a little tiny bit of his West VA. rally this evening (just short clips on MSNBC shows) and couldn't help but notice the defiance and on his face, his jaw jutted out. He was sucking a lot of air between his phony, capped teeth, too. I have decided that is one of his tells when he is lying.
Anyhow, the noose seems to be tightening around his pudgey neck. I expect his behavior to get more erratic with the latest developments from Mueller. It ought to be either scary as hell the next few months or the funniest meltdown since Frosty bit the dust last winter.

God knows what they may do if their orange idiot hero goes down.....and Chitolini will not go quietly like Tricky Dick did.
Of course if Chitolini goes down we get Pence who is just as nuts but not as bombastic and in different ways. He creeps me out too.
