That's why the Grenfell fire looked so familiar, these UAE buildings (and yes, there have been more) are burning the same way, fire racing up the outside and raining burning debris down. However, they are more recent buildings, have fire sprinklers, and have multiple stairwell exits.
Dubai building authorities claim that exterior decks are fireproofed and that exterior fires haven't entered the buildings. I tend to doubt that since all it takes is a window shattered from heat to admit both smoke and fire to living quarters.
There's nothing at YouTube about a current fire. Last one was 4 months ago.
