Did Condi Rice lie to the 9/11 commission?

This is potentially a huge story (especially in light of her being mentioned as Romney's VP front runner).

On page xvi-xvii of her introduction (and I'm sure elsewhere) she
maintains that the focus in the summer before the 9/11 attacks was
overseas. She writes:

"After all, the intelligence assessment was that an attack would most likely come in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Israel or in Europe." (intro at p. xvii).

In her testimony to the 9/11 Comission, Rice stated:

"The threat reporting that we received in the spring and summer of 2001 was not specific as to time, nor place, nor manner of attack. Almost all of the reports focused on al Qaeda activities outside the United States, especially in the Middle East and North Africa.

In fact, the information that was specific enough to be actionable referred to terrorist operations overseas."

But, newly released intel documents highlight that in MAY of 2001
intelligence agencies were warning of a group of terrorists IN THE US
planning an attack with "high explosives."

The document was entitled:

"Group Presently in the United States Planning to Conduct a Terrorist Operation Involving the Use of High Explosives."

There is plenty more in the National Security Archives file that case serious doubt on her testimony.

2. Condi is a well-practiced liar. In GOP circles, that's a requirement. However, her

race and gender basically disqualify her from the gig. The suits running the show aren't going to put another woman on the ticket and certainly not an African-American. The tea baggers would shit bricks.
