A new survey from Brightfield Group and HelloMD covered 2,400 of HelloMDs community of 150,000 members and did a deep dive into the usage of CBD products and their effectiveness. HelloMD is an online community that brings together doctors and cannabis patients
Cannabidiol is one of the two cannabinoids found in marijuana. It is the non-psychoactive part of the plant and doesnt give users the feeling that they are high or stoned. Instead, it is known to have medicinal qualities. Contrary to the image of men being the predominant consumers of cannabis, this survey found that 55% of the CBD users were women, while men preferred the THC-dominant products. Brightfield Group, which helped conduct the survey, studies consumption patterns and demand trends and is committed to providing accurate data in the cannabis industry which seems to be rife with unsupported claims.
The most common reasons people used CBD were to treat insomnia, depression, anxiety and joint pain, according to Dr. Perry Solomon, the Chief Medical Officer of HelloMD. Forty-two percent of the CBD users said they had stopped using traditional medications like Tylenol pain relievers or prescription drugs like Vicodin and had switched to using cannabis instead. Eighty percent said that they found the products to be very or extremely effective. Only 3% or less found the product to be either ineffectual or only slightly effective.

An that's why they want to re-criminalize... fill the for-profit prisons. Win -Win.

(41,991 posts)To be fair I've also taken a strict nutrition/supplement approach but I use CBD products with some regularity and I've stopped using NSAIDs after a daily habit for far longer than I liked. It's legal here, the varieties and kinds of consumables are regulated and the consultants knowledgeable.
I hope the rest of the country catches up and the GOP keeps out of it. It's medicine, pure and simple.

(11,686 posts)pain mostly away was either Morphine or CBD. Since they do not prescribe Morphine to the extent I actually needed it I only had CBD which I did not mind as it was not as harsh on my body. The fact that it does better for the higher percentage is what pharma does not like. I would bet any of the pukes in the administration that want to outlaw it have financial involvement in pharma.

(34,125 posts)It was slow getting it into Kansas even though there is no THC in it but we finally got a store here in the town I live close to. I have gastroparesis. It is uncomfortable at best and inconvenient but the terrible pain and daily nausea were just becoming a horror and they were getting much worse. I was ready to look into parenteral feeding, at least consider it to get rid of the pain because my meds were not helping as much and I was beginning to exceed the dosage recommended. I have had 2 breakthrough nausea incidents. I take it twice a day in water and have taken an extra 1/2 dose for the breakthroughs and I cannot say anything bad about it except it tastes funny. I swear by it now. I have not even opened a bottle of the two meds I had been living on for the last 2 years. It would be better for my condition if I also used some THC. I could easily get it but I don't like it much anymore. This works fine. I am worried they are going to try to get rid of it. Driving all of us to the "underground" to get the only med that actually works and then we WILL be getting the THC with it likely.
