The former head of the Scottish government on Wednesday called President Trump “a complete and utter nincompoop” for his comments opposing Scottish independence.

Former First Minister of Scotland Alex Salmond slammed Trump for saying the country shouldn't pursue independence from Great Britain for a second time, according to The Scotsman.

“The Grand Canyon is a minor crevice compared to the vast chasm of ignorance of that man,” Salmond said of Trump.

Politico on Wednesday released the transcript of a Trump interview with The Wall Street Journal last week, in which he said that Scotland “went through hell" in its 2014 independence referendum.

and even assisted him in removing residents who lived along the periphery for generations, or at the least allowed Trump to legally harass and defame them. ("You've Been Trumped&quot

Salmond lost political points for his support of Trump.

Kind of interesting to see his sentiments now that it's politically advantageous to oppose Trump. (And don't think that Trump won't bring this up when he retorts.)
