Huckabee-Sanders believes, in the very deepest part of her heart, that Trump is

ordained by God to be the President to usher us finally into the End Times. In this belief, everything is justified. The lies, the damage done to institutions and the people who rely on them are all in Service to this End.

And she is not alone. I think there are only two kinds of people around the President now. Those who believe like Sarah does, and those who cynically use these whackadoo beliefs to further their own fortunes.

Trump and his family, and anyone else in the world rich enough not to need a Country to work on their behalf, have no horse in the race as far as having a functioning America. They don't care. AT ALL.

We have to realize what we're up against.

them thinking an all out nuclear war would be great. These people scare me, they are seriously unbalanced organically, by conditioning or both. Far too many people IMO think people think and comprehend rationally and will take the best steps for all. They don't! Some are on a death mission from their god.

I have therefore, been reading "Jesus is coming soon" signs for over 60 years. She thinks that is really going to happen soon? I do not think so. However, Trump could do enough damage to end the world.

I have been commenting for months on threads that this is like a cult with a supreme leader that is twisted.

"The end" well... now... THAT we are experiencing with the decimation of our democracy and government.

the "end times" whether they intend to or not. But that is no reason to continue supporting the lying cheat at every turn.

I don't get why they think trump is "the One." They also thought Mitt was the white knight or something. Their mythological anticipation is wrecking our plans for having a functioning, democratic society where justice prevails.

and all of these lunatics would just disappear. That'll show us.

The show Six Feet Under had very interesting intros that showed how people died and one episode had a truck carrying inflatable sex dolls spill out and float up in the air so some bible thumping woman thought it was the rapture and ran out into traffic and got hit by a truck.

14. So many Trumpees think he is the state now

From George Lakoff yesterday:

Louis IV, King of France, was famous for saying, L’état, c’est moi — I am the state — a metaphor that a king could live by, or at least try to. Roger Cohen, on May 19, 2017, in a NY Times op-ed titled L’état, c’est Trump, pointed out ways in which Trump has acted as if he had absolute power, like a despot. True. But there is a lot more to say. When John Lengacher and I closely analyzed language coming out of the White House, it became clear that Trump has internalized and has been living by a central metaphor: THE PRESIDENT IS THE NATION.

What Ideas and Actions Follow

1) The job of senior government officials is to serve the nation. Under this metaphor, their job is to “serve the President.”

2) The American people swear allegiance, that is, support to their nation. Under the metaphor, the phrase “the American people” comes to mean the supporters of the President. Thus, “The American people want …” means Trump supporters want…” “The American People love the President” means the President’s supporters love the President.

3) National security becomes the security of the President. The security of the President can be threatened in many ways.
