. . . where are our public officials denouncing the hatred, and calling for comity and togetherness? I guess that's not as politically attractive as the deliberate divisiveness.


US police officer wanted to shoot Michelle Obama

A police officer in the US capital Washington was being investigated over alleged plans to kill First Lady Michelle Obama.

The officer, who had worked as a White House security motorbike escort, was reportedly overheard threatening to shoot the president's wife, before retrieving a picture on his mobile phone of the weapon he would use.

He was moved to administrative duty, hours after allegedly making the comments, the newspaper wrote. President Barack Obama's Secret Service bodyguards were also investigating the allegation.

All responsible people need to make a visible stand against this intimidation. It's a matter of race, just because of the unprecedented nature of the hatred directed toward the nation's first black first family. This is where we set the tone of our nation's attitude and discourse for generations to come.

1. yep, just like those days

. . . the profusion of threats and slurs; the relative silence from our nation's leadership. I now have to wonder about the very folks charged with protecting the President and family. Nothing seems sacred anymore.

I'm just talking to myself, I guess. Not unusual . . .
