Romney's tax Returns for 2000, 2001, 2002...?

...Will never be made public by Mr. Romney. He would rather accept the slings and arrows from the media and the Democrats than accept the guillotine within his tax returns. From what we have seen about outsourcing and Bain Capital, those returns have the potential to be devastating to his campaign. He is willing to gamble that the Republican voters will forget this story as long as he says the Obama campaign is lying about his record. He could show the proof but he won't. Because he can't.

But, one would have to wonder, is Mitt Romney the only person with that information? Doesn't the IRS have that information also? Could not reporters file a FOIA request and get that information? Because it is in the national interest to know what type of financial dealings the future president might have had. How much longer can Mr Romney continue to stonewall on his tax returns?

I'm wondering if he's afraid that the Republicans might nominate someone else if there's something really damaging in his records.

should prove mighty interesting. I agree, he is not a shoo-in at this point, and the Paul
lunatics will surely add some fireworks.

Should be fun to watch.

Conventions are usually so boring, especially Republican conventions. Ever since 1980 they've been nothing more than coronation ceremonies. How I'd love to see that party implode! Oh, and welcome to DU.

So, members of the McCain campaign staff have seen them. What do they have to say?

Maybe he didn't ?

If he did, there is no one rushing forward to vouch for him.

Also, if Romney signed over control of Bain to other individuals, who were they? Where are the names? This is not a hunt for a birth certificate - this is vital information for the voters.

In 2008, when Sen. John McCain (Ariz.), the Republican nominee, was considering Romney for his running mate, Romney reportedly sent McCain’s vetting team tax returns dating to 1985. “I’m a bit of a pack rat, so I had them all,” the Arizona Republic quoted him as saying.

Dating back to 1985!

They wanted a VP candidate who would appeal to the born-again far right wing of the party. Romney might have been rejected before even looking at his tax records.

He will keep running and not release his taxes all the while hoping against hope that he has the "character" to withstand any and all attacks.

sociopaths are like that.

It annoys me that he gets to skate and ONLY resist publishing his US Federal Tax Returns. Fuck that shit. How about any reporting required in "tax havens"??? There's gotta be gold in them thar' hills.

Fri Jul 13, 2012, 09:55 AM

would show that he paid roughly nothing in US income taxes for years while keeping his millions stashed offshore. That would go over like the proverbial lead balloon and hand the Obama campaign a million-pound shithammer with which to pummel him.

He has painted himself into a very unpleasant corner. Stonewall and refuse to release and be thought a double-dealing, crooked weasel or release the returns and prove that very fact. Sucks to be the Mittwit these days.
