A. North Korea is a legitimate threat to our national security.
B. Going to war does wonders to a President's approval ratings.
C. Donald Trump really has nowhere to go but down unless he does something drastic.
This all seems like a very dangerous situation.

(50,300 posts)There's nothing casual about it, but not mentioning the possibility doesn't make it go away. This is every bit as frightening as the Cuban Missile Crisis when major east coast cities were in peril. Of course then we had a sane POTUS.

(41,990 posts)I was too young to really get the implications but every now and then sirens would go off and all the fathers disappeared and the mothers were hanging out together scared to death until the phone rang and they relaxed. I had nightmares about phones and sirens for years without realizing what they were about.
No, ignoring it doesn't make it go away. Local news is talking about it. It's horrifying. We would all die, my kids, the anticipated-within-days first grandbaby, we would have to choose fast or slow, bet the odds we could outlast the fallout and die later of cancer or organ failure. We are in a position where obliteration would be the kindest end...people, pets, wildlife, all of us. It's taking some serious courage because there's not much to put faith in. That's life here in the PNW, which otherwise is frankly quite wonderful.

(61,696 posts)Immigration, though. So I guess he has taken a few positions on policy. My guess is his main emphasis there is national security vs employment economics.

(20,874 posts)his voters love the wall anyways. I look for more homeland security talk from the White House. Kelly will likely regret moving closer to the nut house, but may have no option but to the take the demotion.
