Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsWhat kind of good Christian woman,
who wants to raise her children to be moral upstanding citizens, works for and enables men who in the vilest and most violent language imaginable, openly insult and demean everyone they disagree with, while also discussing and bragging about groping and sucking on the private parts of both men and women?
What kind of woman? Why Sarah Huckabee Sanders, of course, a person who is the walking, talking epitome of Republican hypocrisy.

(10,014 posts)Huckabee is an enabler as is the rest of the White House and cabinet but she is not causing the vileness.

(8,203 posts)the vileness...a lot of what she says, is wrapped around what she thinks....I am not ready to give her a pass...would I, forsake the American people, in the ways SHS is...not in my lifetime...she is selling us out for money...and fame..too bad it is the wrong kind....she is enabling the wrong people....but then, she has NO point of reference other than big daddy....

(16,120 posts)and I blame her, not for the actions of the men, but for her own actions in CHOOSING to knowingly and blatantly lie day in and out about what is happening.
As a mother, I think that is a terrible example to set for her children.
I feel the same about KellyAnne.
Men who lie all day every day are just as poor of examples for their kids, but in evangelical/very religious families moms tend to be more involved with kids than the men.

(16,120 posts)no one lies.
Leads to a lot of me asking my boys "do you really want an answer to that question?". They have learned to say "no" sometimes, because I also don't sugar coat things too much.
But, it also makes parenting way simpler. If my boys have done something wrong, they admit it immediately, knowing that the punishment is WAY worse if they lie.
I worry though that I'm handicapping them for the future. None of them lies, even if the truth makes them look bad.
This has caused them problems among the kids at school...oh, and one parent told me that lying is a sign of creativity and intelligence in kids which is kind of bizarre to me, but whatever.
But, back to the point: as a mom, I would be totally embarrassed to get up and lie to people on television daily. I'd feel like it made me a bad mom and a bad person. No one is forcing her to do that and the fact that she does leads one to assume a lack of morals.

(8,203 posts)She, who just happens to be a woman, is as vile as they come...I do not blame her for being a woman - I am a woman..she has a choice - she made her choice...
Blaming women for the actions of men???? - Did I do that??? I blame SHS for her own actions....

(19,204 posts)responsible for her own actions, and for the words which come out of her mouth. She chooses to enable them, which means she agrees with what they're saying. They're not holding a gun to her head to walk out there and say those things. She's just as big a jackass as the man sitting in the Oval Office.
Just my opinion. I wouldn't stick up for anyone in this mis-administration.

(8,203 posts)Could it be? - perhaps? -as to why, considering the evil way in which her brain works - when people are able to think for themselves, weigh all sides of an issue, see ALL people, not be swayed by rhetoric, believe in themselves to make good decisions, do the most good for the most people - then they are NOT the walking dead.....
Do the most good for the most people should be the starting point....

(15,223 posts)It is my right, as a citizen, to have an opinion about her behavior. She is a vile, nasty and mean human being. She treats the press corp (who are there only to do their jobs) like shit. There is NOTHING "Christian" about her behavior.
I don't care what she has been immersed in. Her job is to answer questions posed to her by the press with accuracy and truth. A little bit of decorum wouldn't hurt either. Instead, she vilifies the reporter who asks questions of her.

(15,223 posts)And I don't consider myself a giant asshole.
There is a movement underway (i.e., Bishop Barber) to call attention to the fact that the right wing crazies don't necessarily represent the teachings of Christ. I'm happy to see that movement beginning. You know, returning grace, mercy, love, compassion, etc. to the dialogue.
The right wing crazies have tried to hold ownership of Christianity for some time, when in fact, they represent only a portion of us - vocal as they may be.
smirkymonkey
(63,221 posts)There are different types of Christians. There are the mainstream Catholics/Protestants, etc who quietly walk their talk and then their are the Mega Church, Political christians with a capital K, who will never pass up an opportunity to tell you "I am A CHRISTIAN" and those are the people that I am referring to.
They aren't real Christians, they are a right-wing hate cult hiding behind Christianity in order to feel better about the evil things that they do and say.

(45,514 posts)There is a type of person who think their sins will be forgiven and their conscience will be clear if they cast judgment down upon others and make them suffer. It's also a way of deflecting blame and attention off of themselves and projecting it onto others.
I've seen it too many times. It has to be a pattern.

(10,107 posts)I worked with a woman, who always talked about her Christianity. She had a poster in her office "Remember the persecuted". One time we were taking about something and she says something about "Gayds" instead of AIDS. I will live forever with the guilt and shame of not having filed some sort of complaint against her.

(9,897 posts)Sorry for a bit of snark, but I am sick to death of the wildly abused notion that self-identifying as a "Christian" has anything at all to do with being a good, moral person....in many cases it is a categorical disqualifying attribute, not a badge of honor...

(16,245 posts)Christians are the biggest hypocrites on the planet if they criticize somebody over dirty words, yet excuse the actions of a Trump administration that are more vile than mere language.
I hate pearl clutching when it comes to language. You can be morally upstanding and still curse. You could argue that there is a time and place for everything, but morals have little to do with language itself. And it's prissy to complain about it anyway, as if it's the worst thing on the planet. The Trump Administration and anyone associated with it are doing to people what they accused Steve Bannon of doing to himself.

(13,081 posts)One of my closest friend's mother works with us (as in, employment). Kind, generous. She still makes me lunch once a week, even when I didn't marry her daughter . (Coincidentally, her daughter, my daughter, and I were Sanders delegates; my wife and yet another coworker were Clinton delegates. Never a single argument in real life)
The mom lives her life in the Christian ideal, all the way. Mormon, too, no less.
She won't vote Democratic because she's against abortion. She won't vote for "dead babies" regardless of any other issue. I think we did convince her to vote at all.
