He is working awfully had and taking A LOT of political damage by not making a full disclosure of his financial dealings. On the other side, Obama took his sweet time in producing his long form birth certificate, but those demanding it were a pack of lunatics and there wasn't an election going on. Romney is looking at prolonged questions from the mainstream media and has only about six weeks until the convention. Whatever is in Mitts corporate and financial history must be fatal to his campaign, otherwise I'm sure his advisers would have dumped it over the 4th of July weekend and then spent the rest of the summer playing catch up.
