And when Chris began to read the quote... It was like time slowed down for me... I thought is he gonna read it and say it? Then it dropped from the screen.

I really hope someone does not lose their job over that.

Right wing anti-porn activists wrote the language that was included in there.

How are they going to handle this?

some of them helped write the 2016 Republican Platform.

Anyone who supports censorship is a right-wing Trump ally. We know this.

So by logic they should be calling for "obscenity" charges against Mr. Scaramucci, no?

I can see if the audience was young, but isn't the average viewer age of shows like Hardball around 60 (totally unscientific figure thrown out that I thought I saw somewhere)? I've always found the idea of censoring speech or sex for adult viewers a little odd.

back when they were young, CNN was on 24-7 (almost), and they all grew up pretty well-informed..

In fact, when my oldest was almost 7, we were headed off the the bowling alley for my morning league, when the assassination had just happened... we walked into the bowling alley and my son asked the desk guy to turn the tv on..John (desk guy) asked what channel... my son said CNN.. The guy asked if he wouldn't rather watch a kid show..My son piped up in his little voice with "Anwar Sadat was just assassinated"..John said "who?".. my little guy said the PRESIDENT of EGYPT..I was proud

That's about when I had my first political awakenings.. I remember seeing Jerry Falwell spouting some shit at the camera, and I was like "okay, whatever side that guy's on; I'm on the other one"

But I had had it with so-called cable news by circa 2004. The crap that election year, the way all the rovian bullshit was catapulted and enabled, just put me over the top. Now I almost never bother with it. And oddly enough, I'm just as informed about current events if not more, I just don't need to listen to a bunch of interchangeable talking heads' opinions on them.

Of course, the talking heads I do listen to, like John Oliver, swear like sailors anyway.

Full disclosure, I watched a bit of the Hardball "fucking" clip, and I gotta say Tweety makes a good point; no one cares so much about the swearing, or even the incoherence itself--- the scary thing here (or one of them, I guess) is that these are the fucking people who are supposed to be driving the train, flying the airplane, keeping the nuclear power plant from melting down, etc- whatever metaphor you want.
