Scaramucci scales back talk of firings
Anthony Scaramucci, President Trump's incoming White House communications director, scaled back his earlier pledge of purging his press shop in order to weed out possible leakers, saying late Tuesday that he does not plan to aggressively fire people for now.
"There are rumors that I'm firing more people," Scaramucci said on Air Force One Tuesday night, according to a pool reporter. "I'm not firing any more people, at least for now."
The former hedge fund manager said while he isn't planning to fire anyone right now, he is not ruling out future firings.
"If the leaks continue then I've got to let everybody go," Scaramucci continued, adding that once installed in his head position, he would "probably restructure" the communications department.
The recently tapped communications chief also said he believes some leaks are coming from the communications office, which he plans to deal with before he addresses other leakers.
