OK, here's the deal on Sessions.

'Cooler heads' have told Donny Two-Scoops that he CAN NOT 'fire' Sessions.
I'm guessing Kushner/Ivana/Bannon, but that's only a guess.

He wants Jeffy out, but can't fire him.
Bad optics.
So he just keeps dissing him, thinking that eventually he will have had enough and will resign.

IMHO, he underestimates J-Beau's willingness to smooch bum to keep his job.
He is the kind of weasel who will hang on to the last breath.
The man has no integrity, otherwise he would have already put his resignation on the Orange One's desk.

That's good!

Sessions is said to be stubborn and that he digs his heels in. I hope he refuses to resign so it drives Trump crazy.

I'm sure the AG's salary is bigger than a Senator's salary and bigger than unemployment insurance bennys in AL.

He'll hang on the the bitter end.

4. I think it's better for Sessions to make tRump fire him.

I think Jeffie is pissed off and may have his hackles up for this Northerner.
If tRump fires Sessions there will be an uproar greater than if he resigned.
First Comey, then Sessions---will he be able, politically, to go after
Mueller then?

But Jefferson Beauregard Sessions has been an Alabama political operator since around 1975. There's a motive behind Sessions' stubborn refusal to leave. It goes like this:

"You just keep on struttin' around and showin' off, Mr. President. But enjoy it now. Because when I decide that it's time to clap two bricks together with those fuzzy little chickpeas of yours between 'em, I'll guarantee you that it's gonna wipe that arrogant smile right off of your face. THAT'S the Alabama way!"

Think about it. He's an insider who may very well know some damning information. And he's the Attorney General of the United States. If you were about to face federal charges of the magnitude that may be coming, would you want someone that you publicly crapped on sitting in the Attorney General's seat?

No, Sessions will smooch a million butts if it means that he gets to be in just the right place at just the right time.

He's just waiting for that magic moment.

His hope is that he holds on long enough to bring down Don but the investigation doesn't go so deep that it exposes him as well. I think the repubs at large are praying that there's enough revealed to bring down Trump but not enough to expose their complicity! That way they can install Pence and say "For the good of the country we need to move on!".

8. I agree with all the disparaging remarks about Sesspool

but we do not want him to quit, we want LOSER 45 to fire him. It would stir up so much controversy & maybe the repugs will wake up to what an imbecile they support. The repug senators like Sessions, even Al Franken likes him. The main target is LOSER 45.

45 wants loyalty, giving it, not so much

Apparently Jeff and Al and their families were close, at least at one time. I haven't read Al's new book but I heard him on "Fresh Take" on NPR and he talked about how when one of his grandchildren was born, the Sessions had knitted a blanket for the baby. The entire interview was pretty insightful to a political outsider about the relationships behind the scenes that many of these politicians have.

He is very hard on Sessions over his relationship with Trump and all things Russia. But he also talks about the baby blanket.

Seems like, no matter how much I read, that pile keeps getting larger. Currently plowing through "Killers of the Flower Moon". If anyone sees this, I can't recommend it enough!!
