Should we be encouraging Sessions to hang in there,

and not let trump push him to resign? The longer he stays in, the more the Twitler stays aggravated. Or should we encourage a blow-up, via firing and the AG recess appointment to fire Mueller? Would congress finally act to remove the crazy one?

Attacking voting rights, aiding voter suppression efforts, gutting the Civil Rights Division, private prisons, mass incarceration, revamped drug war, increased civil forfeiture, etc. He has the ability to do as much or more actual harm as anyone in the Administration.

just think of who we would get in his place.
Sessions has buddies in the repug senate, so if he is fired, that might light a fire under their asses.
Guess Sessions has learned what loyalty gets you.

he'd be replaced by the likes of Giuliani or Ted Cruz or some other GOP orc, so his departure would not result in an improvement to the DoJ. However, if he sticks it out and forces Trump to fire him it would be that much more obvious that Trump is trying to torpedo the Mueller investigation. Sessions hasn't done anything wrong in respect to recusing himself (he reallyh ad to do that), so Trump really has no excuse at all for firing him. Legally he can fire an AG for any reason at all, but he'd really be bringing a shitstorm onto himself - not only because he'd be firing him for doing the right thing, but because it would be further proof that he has no loyalty to anyone and that anybody who works for him runs the risk of being thrown under the bus at any time.
