U.S. Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer said Democrats will not block efforts by Republicans to vote on Tuesday night on amendments to a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare.
Well have to see what they propose, but we dont mind having a few votes tonight, Schumer told reporters after the Senate voted with no Democratic support to open debate on healthcare reform.

As I said in a previous post, add single payer, or a public option

(52,248 posts)they put in spurious amendments and delayed everything every way they could. it slows things down. it doesn't prevent any one particular thing from getting done, but it does prevent some things from getting done because eventually they run out the clock.
plus it's a big distraction, ruins any politically advantageous timing, allows time for people to get on the air and rail against it or contact congresscritters, etc....

(2,785 posts)to vote for the newest Trumpcare bill because they believe Democrats will give them cover with a filibuster. Which is probably the desired result of Moscow Mitch that way they can blame Democrats. Of course Trump could screw that up by demanding to end the legislative filibuster forcing Mitch to break the rules to get this through.

(1,301 posts)Is that Schumer sees that the Republicans are imploding as they negotiate among themselves. That and some of their more draconian thoughts will be put forward in some of these amendments. No matter what it is I don't envy the position Schumer is in.
