Got $60? Great. Then you can afford a snuggle.

Woman charges for "snuggling"

http://www.azfamily.com/news/Woman-charges-for-snuggling-162237325.html

PENFIELD, New York -- Have you ever had days where you just need a hug? A woman in New York hopes a lot of people do.

Jackie Samuel has a new business called The Snuggery. For $60 an hour, the 29-year-old with do exactly that: snuggle with you.

Samuel is very upfront, so customers know not to expect anything inappropriate. Samuel says she was surprised to find she didn't need a state license to start her business.

"I thought I need to kind of validate my position. I need some kind of certification or license to show I'm a qualified cuddler, but I couldn't find anybody else who was doing what I was doing, so I decided to just start," she said.

Kind of sad, but a lot of people are single or in horrible relationships(not to mention abusive) and really don't have anyone they can count on. She will probably be successful.

A happy ending after a snuggle would be a peck on the cheek.

Why? What were you thinking I meant?

He told me he had been abandoned by his mother and had never been kissed by a woman. The guy I was to kiss was in his late 40's -early 50's. I thought it was the craziest thing, and I declined the offer.

...one of the stories I remember well was a report on the fact that people with AIDS were suffering from a kind of deep depression due to the fact that they had absolutely no physical contact. To wit: people were still underinformed about the disease, and wouldn't touch an infected person for fear of getting sick.

Lack of physical contact can be a brutal thing, and it deeply affects people. The thrust of the report was that volunteers who worked with AIDS patients were making a point of having physical contact with those they were helping - hand-holding, massages, kisses, etc. It makes a world of difference.

The point: this little business of hers is a pretty good idea.

So sad that something such as this is needed here. Too many equate touching hugging with sex and not much else. The internet is making things worse, as we do more and more of our socializing over the Internet. How is that possible? Socializing in isolation?

We are social creatures. Babies die without enough touching. Adults can go psychotic without the touch of another. Our jails and prisons are inhumane for their isolation.
Even our teenage pregnancy rate is much higher in this country because of our touch phobia. The kids need more touching. If the only way they can get it is through sex, that is what they will do. I understand female teachers can't even hug their elementary students anymore. Touching is forbidden.
Yet, in the bigger cities, we are crowded together like schools of fish. And still we are not to touch.

Touching for us is a need, like food. We need to be fed.
