During his speech to the Boy Scouts of America on Monday, President Trump bragged about spending time on yachts and recounted a story about meeting real estate developer William Levitt at a cocktail party with “the hottest people in New York.”

Speaking to the massive crowd in West Virginia, Trump described a yacht party he attended where he saw Levitt after the developer had suffered several failed business endeavors.

At one point, Trump told the Boy Scouts he couldn’t recount part of his story because it was not suitable for the young children.

“I won’t go into any more than that cause you’re Boy Scouts,” Trump said, hinting at an orgy as Death & Taxes noted. “So I’m not going to tell you what he did.”

It's a case that went to the supreme court because the plaintiff, James Dale said his rights were violated under New Jersey's public accommodations law. What happened is that the boy scouts found out that Dale, who was an eagle scout and assistant scoutmaster, was gay and fired him.

It's a great example of conservative activism on the Supreme Court, the conservative members of the court used affirmative action laws to claim that straight white boy scouts needed protection from homosexuals and a liberal majority. They then used the Right of Association to justify discrimination against LGBT folks. The boy scouts won, 5-4.

Mr. Dowling: If my son was still scouting age, I'd remove him immediately from the scouts. I'm sure you've heard from many people who found the president's speech vulgar and beyond inappropriate. It stood against all of the values that scouting has so proudly stood for. I believe it did actual damage to the young minds who heard it and were encouraged to boo President and Mrs. Obama, to cheer for hot people doing unspeakable things on yachts, for blatant lies about crucial political issues. At the very least, the BSA owes those boys and their parents an apology for exposing them to such a revolting message. It owes President and Mrs. Obama an apology for the gross disrespect. It owes the American people an assurance that what we heard yesterday does not reflect the values of the BSA in any way.



What was most chilling was the cheering of so many impressionable young men at the titillating hints at bad behavior the president described. This is how you hook young minds into following a bad leader. This is appalling.



If the BSA cannot publicly distance itself from yesterday's disgusting spectacle, it is no longer the Boy Scouts of America.
