(12,655 posts)If you haven't noticed, Elections have become team sports, not a chance to consider a way to establish a national identity or policy for everyone.
You need a good slogan as part of the process for people to remember why they have to vote. "MAGA", as much of a lie as it was, got enough people out to the polls that, along with voter suppression, tipped the balance between Clinton and Drumpf along with some other local races.

They need to hammer on the Republicans' cruelty and Democrats' humanity.
Caring and sharing. I'm not so good at slogans, but drop anything with "deal" like a hot potato.

(14,565 posts)It has to be something short, positive, memorable and that people will assign to themselves.
I thought of Remarkable You in a few minutes. I looked it up and there seemed to be a book by that title and also a health care company using the phrase.
So maybe there would be copyright issues. I have no idea. But we desperately need something that can carry on generation after generation, like the Apple slogan of "Think Different." Something that boosts the overall image of the party and provides an identity. If we continuously have to slap together something to fit the current political climate or candidate then basically there's no chance. Too much burden. You can't be that good cycle after cycle.
But with the slogan I listed there could always be big picture commercials that end with something like, "As always, the Democratic Party believes in Remarkable You."

(21,506 posts)Then they should start telling it. Without backing down when people don't like it.
Most cowardly thing I ever saw was the Dems running away from the ACA during the midterms under Obama instead of fighting for it. Instead a lot of them hid and to this day we are paying for that.
Stop pretending they aren't sure if this administration is doing anything wrong and get out there and start blasting them for their criminality.
Meh slogans are bullshit people want passion authentic passion. Maybe that is not possible in our government anymore or maybe the one thing we can learn from Trump is a big portion of this country wants someone who will fight for them. We have a big problem with Dems who are afraid to cause any waves regardless of what is going on.
There should be endless town halls right now taking advantage of the anti Trump energy out there and our representatives for the most part are sitting on their hands. They should be dropping bombs right now on Donald's head.
Some are most aren't.

So, these won't trip off the tongue, but they hit the ideas I think are important, but we need to drop the "New Deal" references. No one cares anymore.

Honest Promises, Honest Results
Success for ALL Americans
