"... We've now finished Act I of the Trump saga, and are quickly moving into Act II."

Highly recommended, worth the time and attention.

"Which means that if you have any interest in these issues you’re going to want to start paying closer attention, because events and their repercussions are going to really begin speeding up now....

"At the same time word also spread that Mark Corallo, the spokesman and communications strategist for Trump’s legal team, had resigned. Other than stating that “I resigned yesterday,” Mr. Corallo was unwilling to give any additional information on his abrupt departure from Trump’s legal team. But according to the New York Times, “Mr. Corallo was one of several people cautioning against publicly criticizing Mr. Mueller....

"Which is, in my view, letting Trump off too lightly. This is not about mere “Washington traditions.” On the contrary, Trump’s statements and actions have made it clear that he does not understand, respect or even care about the important boundaries intentionally designed into the legal framework of our government. Foundational structures and precedents such as the separation of powers, an independent judiciary, and an apolitical and independent law enforcement community - these are all an irrelevance to Trump...."

This sums up the entire problem. And . . . while this comment addresses Trump's ignorance of and disdain for domestic matters, the same ignorance and disdain fit his approach to international affairs.

On the contrary, Trump’s statements and actions have made it clear that he does not understand, respect or even care about the important boundaries intentionally designed into the legal framework of our government. Foundational structures and precedents such as the separation of powers, an independent judiciary, and an apolitical and independent law enforcement community - these are all an irrelevance to Trump....

That's the hardest one---the President of the United States does not give a shit about anything but his own self. He is selling his country and would sell his own family if it saved his ass.

Agree. And that is why fewer talking heads are suggesting, as they so naively did in the past, that he can turn things around by stopping tweeting, respecting the intelligence agencies, acting Presidential, not stepping on the weekly message, rebooting, not adlibbing, taking the advice of counsel, and so on.... Everybody knows he is off the cliff and cannot change, cannot learn, cannot climb back onto the cliff, and the only questions are how long the fall will be, can it be indefinite, and what is the nature of the canyon floor which is rising in the distance to violently meet him as his descent accelerates.

there is disagreement on the extent of a President's power to pardon, especially himself. No precedent.

I think partly because it's not overthetop as much analysis is related ti overthetop Trump. I think we need sanity along with the hope.
