I keep hearing it over and over on the teevee. As long as Trump's approval with Republicans is around 80% he has the power of god, and can do anything he wants. Fire Sessions, Mueller, or anyone else. Say, or do anything he wants. Republicans will not stand up to him because they fear they might piss off the racist zombie traitors who support him. What crimes he has committed don't matter to them one bit.
We are now a totalitarian state ran by an psychopath completely backed by millions of brainwashed traitors, billionaires that want a tax cut, and a party that wants all health decisions made by corporations. To them laws mean nothing. It's all about power, and keeping total power in "their" hands at any price.
Then you have the Sinclair Group owning 70% of local teevee helping the "conservatives" with their brainwashing of our families, and 99% of talk radio conservative hate radio spewing lies, hate, and nonsense 24/7.
Don't even get me started on voter purges, and voter suppression they are normalizing.
This is getting worse by the minute.
I fear for my country.
Anyone else?

They want total control forever.

(67,112 posts)and republicans in control, they've been quite successful in working this goal. Some of the founders of the US were greatly concerned about two things. Corporations and Political Parties. Enabled by "runaway capitalism," the US is a fine example of this fear having come to fruition. WTF is next ... extremely concerning, to say the least.

(193 posts)Ill give it to them they realize just how stupid Americans are and how to play to their insecurites even when the GOP policies are picking their pockets. It was evident in the Abortion single issue voters and has only gotten worse since the internet makes it so much easier to drill down on the hunny boo boo generation

I am not disagreeing with the substance of your post, but I am old enough to remember the Watergate situation, and many people at that time were also concerned. I was protesting during the Vietnam War, and I am still protesting in my area today. We try to make a difference, we try to change minds and convince people. But we also raised three children, and we have a nice garden, and we walk, and we look for antiques.

(312 posts)I am just worried that the billionaires own the brainwashing apparatus and are using psy-ops on all of us very effectively.

(42,641 posts)But even with the billions spent, and the control of the media, and the voter suppression, and the gerrymandering,
Hillary Clinton won the popular vote and Trump did not.
History is on our side, but we must work for it.

But his base and the GOPers they continue to return to office are an ever-present, real and serious danger.
