In the same breath they're complaining about taxes and police layoffs

The Sheriff of Duval County (Jacksonville, Fl) says he needs more money to continue operations. Local rw'ers freak out about Big Government raising taxes...

Yesterday, the same sheriff said that due to finances he's having to cut 300 positions (100+ sworn officers and other civilian support staff). Local rw'ers freak out about needing to keeping police on the job.

Attn: MORONS. Taxes Pay For Shit. I guess they think that "taxes" only go for welfare and other things for poor people and minorities. Tax cuts= service cuts. If you want something, you've got to pay for it.

Democrats were asleep at the wheel for decades allowing the "Reagan revolution" define government as the problem. If government is the problem, and taxes support government, wouldn't you rather keep more of "your own money" than give it government to make your life harder?

It all flows from the assertion that government is the problem. No one likes paying taxes. We allowed Republicans to define government as the problem. we shouldn't be surprised now when people knee jerk balk at funding it.

Police and fire protection just somehow happens. But, a bigger problem is they feel they will never need welfare, so to them the answer is cut welfare, food stamps, medicaid, and anything which goes to those below their lot in life. They have no clue as to what their taxes actually pays for how they benefit or think they will ever fall on hard times.

day & night via Fox, right wing radio, web sites, their churches, & their idiotic and bought & paid for Congressman -who they were snookered into voting for.

Not only do they end up suffering, we all end up suffering. Sadly, they'll blame all this on Obama & tax & spend Democrats because that's what the rich corporate propaganda machine will tell them to believe.

.. many Moons ago. The tipping point has passed. This is when those that have stood guard dog for the 1%ers against The People come to realize who REALLY has their best interests at heart. As they watch THEIR futures sapped and drained, just like ours were, they will turn on the CRIMINAL elite. There is no turning back, the storm is imminent.

Guillotines, anyone?
