Asked if Mr. Muellers investigation would cross a red line if it expanded to look at his familys finances beyond any relationship to Russia, Mr. Trump said, I would say yes. He would not say what he would do about it. I think thats a violation. Look, this is about Russia.

And there is actual Watergate precident for it. After Archibald Cox was fired in the Saturday Night Massacre, a judge ordered him reinstated, based on the same language in Mueller's regulations. Both can only be fired for "good cause."
