Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders both have very wide margins over Trump in hypothetical match ups.

"Trump does a lot of losing in our poll. Voters wish that either Barack Obama (53/40) or Hillary Clinton (49/42) was President instead of Trump. Trump loses by wide margins in hypothetical matches against Joe Biden (54/39) or Bernie Sanders (52/39) for reelection. Trump loses 12-13% of the folks who voted for him last fall to either Biden or Sanders. Trump also trails in hypothetical contests against Elizabeth Warren (49/42), Cory Booker (45/40), and Kamala Harris (41/40). The one Democrat Trump manages a tie against is Mark Zuckerberg, at 40/40. Zuckerberg is actually not a particularly well known figure nationally- 47% of voters say they have no opinion about him to 24% with a positive one and 29% with a negative one."

(4,533 posts)I watched her speeches on YouTube over the past 5 years and the audiences are basically quiet. She gets almost zero crowd reaction. Warren audiences are wildly ecstatic of course. Booker can get them riled up. Sanders gets strong positive reactions. Biden less so.
I don't think Harris is a "natural politician" like Klobuchar or Sanders or Booker are. I think she's going to be a fabulous California Senator, that she would be a great Attorney General. But I don't think President is a good fit for her, sadly.

(811 posts)(2/3s of whom I really like) Cory Booker has the most room to rise.
He is well-staged in having national recognition, but with tons of growing room. And his biography is most impressive.
If I was going to bet on 2020, I think it will be Booker at the head of the ticket. It would be a great choice.

Biden is too old and would seem like the past, and when he ran before he was a flop. He was appointed vp.
Warren and Sanders are too far left and too old.
Kamala Harris I don't think would have much broad appeal in purple states. But I dont know much about her. I dont think the american people would trust her as Commander in Chief either.
Its early, but the only other person I can think of off hand besides Booker is Andrew Cuomo.

(89 posts)If this fucking asshole didn't dissuade them, no one will. These polls are meaningless. Putin starts with 46% of the country. Fucking Hitler would literally start with 46%.
