(9,670 posts)Or listen to right wing talk radio. I'd like to know the frequency of their contacts with right wing media outlets.
That's the devil on the wall, hiding in plain sight. Wean them off the blatant propaganda, and maybe just maybe they return from their wayward journey.

It's just so obvious that Trump's supporters are 'believers' without evidence.
Which is fine in spiritual matters, but not in fucking government!

(14,047 posts)who will no longer admit that they voted for Trump - even in anonymous polls.
Evidence somewhere in the raw data, but nobody talks about that. In 1964, 64% of polled voters said they voted for Kennedy, only 36% said they voted for Nixon. It was also increasingly difficult to find Nixon supporters post-watergate.

(3,435 posts)Naomi Klein, journalist and author, this past week on Tavis Smiley (not sure if it was rerun) stated that 90million eligible voters DID NOT votein 2016 election; we need to focus on them; register, get to polls in 2018 and 2020. She didn't give breakdown as to party affiliation.
However, so many younger voters are opting for a third party. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the entire republican party dismantled entirely--meanness/evil/hate like that can't continue, not in a progressive America...which we know what we will be handing our children in the near future. Maybe we have had a setback but demoracy is an idea that will not be crushed.
Repubs have reached the apex of ita effectivenessn relevance...they are the oldwhitemans bigot ed party that ameri cans have no appetite for any longer, sure there is the base, but is dwindling as we speak. One can't deny birth to death ratio and not see the facts whiteamericans are at zero population. In addition to the birth/death data. This it for christian- republikkklans because younger voters aren't buying into hate and bigotry; this may well be their last hurrah --can't even repeal Obamacare; eight years of voting against it even with control of congress and executive branches, and still as of today, they are unable to repeal it, and if they do they will own it while 22 million Americrans (mostly trump and republican voters) will lose their healthcare. Hate cannot and will not stand because its foundation is based on lies told by liars for decades, centuries really.

(14,565 posts)I didn't know Joy emphasized it but I'm not surprised. She has an excellent feel for what is meaningful and what is not, unlike Rachel Maddow.
When I saw the poll results about Trump supporters not believing about Jr.'s meeting it reminded me of post-election when 52% of Republicans thought Trump won the popular vote and that number rose to 60% among non-college educated Republicans.
Nothing cynical is going to attach to that mindset. Not even close. That's partially why impeachment is a pipe dream. The conservative base will never believe anything Russia or demand the reps to act on it. They aren't going to abandon a president early in his first term.
But health care is something different. Where are all the effective commercials? I should be seeing them everywhere, like the Flo Progressive spots. We can absolutely convince and sway a vital few percent once people see GOP operative assertions about nobody dying due to lack of health care, or nobody having a constitutional right to health care. I'm sure there have been worse examples than that.
