If we were really bipartisan

If either party was truly bipartisan, you know perfectly well that there are enough conservative dems and moderate GOP's to get 50 votes to the floor. It might never get passed, but I'd bet you could get something into debate. The amendments might ultimately take it down, but we'd get further than this.

Bipartisanship, with certain exceptions, is not what I want in any way. I'm good with them at each others throats and staunchly on opposite sides of the isle.

I will say though, that I'm more tolerant of when we pass legislation, as imperfect as it might be, but with GOP help, that when we pass "imperfect" legislation without them. In the former, one can credibly say that we "had" to, or that it was the "price to pay". When we just do it ourselves, we end up looking foolish and lose credibility.

I think the point is that one could probably sideline Cruz and empower Collins if there was really any attempt on their part to pursue bipartisanship. And McConnell should have some interest because at this point he's in a position where he has to pass almost anything so he can move on. He might be surprised how many dems he could get to vote to remove the mandate, and to allow ideas like cross state plans, and raising the number of employees a firm had before it was required to provide insurance.

That is another Republican LIE.

They are paid professional liars.

They serve corporations, Wall Street, and the Evangelicals.

Fuck them all !!!

I am tired after decades re-fighting battles that we have already won.

They are a threat to every woman in this country.

They are a threat to every minority in this country.

They are a threat to the economy of this country.

They are a threat to the planet.

They are EVIL LIARS !!!!!!!!!!

Pussy footing around will not change this.

It needs to be said, and it needs to be said often.

They are the party of hate and divisiveness.

They want complete control.
