The Russian Interference in 2016 is a Result of Everyone Believing Hilary was Going to Win

Here's My Theory:

Putin was damn sure Hilary would win and he wanted to screw with her election. Cause so much turmoil, that when she became President, investigations would never end and her Presidency would be crippled.

Trump, and the closed circle of Trump supporters (i.e. Manafort, Don Jr., Kushner, Bannon, et all) firmly believed that they had very little, if any chance, to win this election. They threw caution to the wind. Manafort and Bannon are far from naïve'. They knew that colluding with Russia was a dangerous game, but they had no choice, if they wanted to win.

Hilary and our side were so convinced that she would win, we took Michigan, Wisconsin and even Pennsylvania (to a lesser extent) for granted. I remember, before the Oct. 27 Comey letter, that she was campaigning in Georgia and Arizona and talking about "running up the score".

Comey was so convinced that Hilary would win, that he wrote that Oct. 27 letter to cover his ass after Hilary won, to show how even handed he was.

Barak Obama was so convinced that Hilary was going to win, that he didn't go public prior to the election with all the evidence of collusion before Nov. 8. He figured that he could take care of that after the election and Hilary could follow up after the inauguration.

As a result, Putin over performed and Trump and his associates wanted to win so bad that even Treason was acceptable. Everyone miscalculated, even Putin. And, in the end, everyone listed here will regret their decisions during the election. And that includes Putin.

... states and that's the only thing she didn't factor in.

I do agree that overall they didn't think any of those tactics would defeat her though ... Benedict Donald wasn't prepared to be president and doesn't like it

I love Hilary like she was my own sister. But we took Michigan for granted, voter suppression or not.

mindset before this thing happened.

Many calculations and decisions were made that now seem incomprehensible, but were perfectly understandable if the assumption was that Hillary was going to win no matter what.

As you say, that includes Putin, which seems to be the hardest thing of all for people to understand.

Nobody was sure that Hillary would win. We worked like our lives depended on it.

I worked the long range ground game in PA. Nobody on "our side" took that state for granted.

I never heard Mrs. Clinton (or anyone else for that matter involved in the campaign) talk about "running up the score".

We did, however, talk about the fact that Trump had so few field offices and no ground game in place. Why did he think he wouldn't need them? And why did he make sure to visit MI, WI, and PA the weekend before the election? What an odd coincidence.

I worked my ass off in New Hampshire (by the way, we won there). However, I remember this article a couple of weeks before the election.

<snip>Clinton aims to run up the score

The Democrat wants to squash ‘rigged’ election talk with a huge win, dragging congressional Dems along for the ride.

Hillary Clinton’s headquarters and battleground states teams now see a high-single-digit margin of victory as real.

NEW YORK — Hillary Clinton and her allies have an animating aim in the final 14 days of the 2016 contest – drive up the score so dramatically that claims by Donald Trump of Democratic vote-rigging will be rendered inconsequential thanks to the margin of victory.<snip>

The only reference in your link to anything remotely akin to your claim is a mention of the importance of a big win providing a clear mandate from an "ally" not involved in the campaign.

The "running up the score" language is only in the headline. The author of the piece can hardly be characterized as a Clinton supporter.

This is what makes clickbait headlines so dangerously misleading.

It is the result of Russia working for their own self interest. Trump was the much better choice for them.

This was not a one off though this is and has been ongoing.

This started way before 2016.. Mother of God.. What is so hard to understand this plan has been in place for quite some time? The 2016 election was just the final nail in our coffin.
