Ann Coulter's Lost Delta Seat: After Close Analysis,

I finally figured out what happened. She didn't buy an extra seat. She booked a seat in an exit or bulkhead row so she could stretch her bony legs out. But why they gave her precious seat to someone else is simple:

1. She didn't show up at the airport in time.
2. If it's an exit row seat, you have to check in at the ticket counter to get your boarding pass, since they're required to confirm that you're physically able to operate the exit door.
3. There's a deadline. She, being the incredibly important person she is, always is late and shows up at the last minute.
4. Since darling Ann didn't check in on time, Delta assigned that seat to someone else who did show up on time.
5. Ann Coulter is one of those people who is always the last to board the plane. No standing in a line of stinky ordinary people. No crowding in the jetway for Ann. No. She waits until everyone has boarded and the departure gate people give the last call, and then saunters up and comes aboard.
6. Of course, her selected seat already has someone in it, and she has been assigned a middle seat between two odorous people who look suspiciously foreign. That will not do for Ann Coulter. Don't they know who she is?
7. Ann pitches a fit and insists that she get the seat she chose, despite showing up late and getting reassigned.
8. The very patient flight attendant explains politely that she needs to take her assigned seat, shut the hell up and fasten her seat belt so the plane can leave the gate. Ann Coulter is not amused and tries to throw her minuscule weight around. Flight attendant has had enough of that crap and insists that Pouty Ann take her seat.
9. Ann Counter tweets her frustration and disdain, along with a photo of the nice passenger who is sitting in "Ann's Seat," and is righteously mocked by one and all.
10. Poor Ann Coulter.

I would leave out the pejoratives in the description like "bony legs".

I have to wonder what expectation of privacy that poor woman had who Coulter identified in the picture. Probably nothing legal, but you would think she Coulter could be shamed by that person going to the media.

Not as bad as the model taking a photo of a woman in a fitness room shower and mocking it, but moving along that line.

My family and I flew on Delta for our vacation (returned yesterday). I hadn't flown since 2006 and noticed that the coach seats are much closer together (if you are 6' or taller, zero leg room) but overall it was as enjoyable an experience as it could have been. Smooth flight, professional and courteous flight crew, on time departures and arrivals. As a nervous flyer I loved having movies to watch.

Nobody is booking her on news shows any more. She's no longer the sharp-tongued pundit she once was, and has been replaced by others. First, it was Michelle Bachmann, whose nasal, whiny voice was more than a match for Coulter's acerbic wit. Now, however, we have Kellyanne Conway, who combines all of the features that Ann Coulter offered, but with a more current connection to realpolitik.

So, where's Anne's money coming from? Her books are out of print and her voice on the news is no longer sought after. She's fallen far from her earlier perch.

I flew to D.C. last month and had exit rows both times. When they scanned my boarding pass at the gate with everyone else they asked if I was performing the duties but that was as we were boarding. No extra check in at the counter at all, in fact that was the first time I talked to an airline employee that day.

These seats have more padding and about 3 inches more legroom. You also get free drinks and upgraded snacks. They cost about $60 more than coach, or maybe more since I haven't checked lately.

People can buy the upgrade at the gate or, on really full flights, and LGA-MIA usually is, coach passengers will get put there late in the boarding process. Coulter must have shown up at the last minute, after the agents had started the process of filling the unclaimed seats.

She got treated just like any other passenger who showed up late would get treated. This is what she was whining about.

Wrong. This is an Embraer jet with 2 + 2 seating (space btwn the women and the two men is the aisle.
