WASHINGTON DC - On Sunday's "Meet The Press," Director of the Office of Management and Budget Mick Mulvaney had a harsh message for survivors of the Bowling Green Massacre.
If youre a survivor of the Bowling Green Massacre and youre able-bodied, we need you to go to work. If youre on disability insurance and youre not supposed to be, you're not truly disabled, we need you to go back to work.
Mulvaney's words drew harsh criticism from Trump voter and local businessman Herb Tarlek. "I voted for Trump because he said he was going to make life better for the hard working men and women of America. He was going to make it great again. I lost a cousin in the Bowling Green Massacre. I sat by her bed in the hospital and held her hand while she wept and told me what she'd miss most was seeing America being made great again, and how it was going to be made great without her. I wish I hadn't voted for Trump now, although I do plan to vote for him again in 2020."
Mulvaney's proposal involves terminating all government aid to Bowling Green Massacre survivors as of August 1, 2017. "It's the right thing to do," Mulvaney told reporters. "This entitlement program is making it impossible for the wealthy in America to put food on their families' tables. Unfair taxes on our nation's most prosperous families are not the answer. My heart goes out to the survivors of the Bowling Green Massacre, but it's time to put this behind us and get back to work."
