This is why small employers freak out about the ACA.
There are thousands of ins and outs to this law far more than this article can address. But for now, there are 7 areas to start focusing on.
1. The Employer "Play or Pay" Mandate
(Doesn't mention the 40% of exempted organizations under the law, or that ~95% of employers that currently provide healthcare insurance are unaffected by "Play or Pay"
2. New Nondiscrimination Requirements
(Fails to mention that these provisions only attach to self-insured companies)
3. Automatic Enrollment
(Fails to mention that automatic enrollment is less labor intensive than establishing a new employee payroll account ... and can be done with a single signature; when the employee signs whatever new hire paperwork that the organization has)
4. Disposition of Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) Rebates
(Fails to mention that the INSURER tells the company whether the rebate is in the form of a check to the employee, or as in most cases to date, a reduction in premium charged to the organzation)
5. New Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) Requirement
(fails to mention that every organization that provides healthcare insurance, already provides this.)Okay ... This
6. Reporting the Cost of Coverage on 2012 W-2 Forms
(Okay ... this is gonna give organizations heartburn; not because it's difficult to calculate - it's already done; but rather, because it exposes those organizations providing high cost/low benefit programs where the organization has the employee paying the bulk of the premium ... Shhh, has been the order of the day.)
7. New Limitations on Medical Flexible Spending Accounts
(Fails to mention that this is a payroll/accounting function accomplished with a click of a button ... just like limits on deferred comp, or the current MFS Account limits.)
The cost of maintaining a health plan will likely go up.

He's annoyed at the misinformation being spread by ACA (which likely means he supports it).
did you mean to say misinformation being spread AGAINST ACA, rather than BY ACA?
