The "Grand Deal" of Donald Trump
I am not a psychic and cannot predict the future but this is my read of what has happened thus far in this complex mystery.
All the secret "meetings" of Trump associates with Russian agents are peripheral to a "Grand Deal" by Trump and Putin and other Russian oligarchs. They were hired to specifically help Donald Trump negotiate a "deal" that would make him extremely more wealthy than he is at present. They are not meeting with Russians to further their own agenda, per se, but to further the "Grand Deal" of Donald J Trump.
After all, what did Jeff Sessions know about Russian politics? Why did Trump hire him as his Attorney General? Why did he appoint Rex Tillerson as his Secretary of State, when he had never met the man before in his life? Why did he choose General Michael Flynn as his National Security Advisor? Why did they all feel the need to lie and cover up every question about Russian involvement?
If we look at all these "meetings" as parts of a much larger puzzle, it begins to make more sense. Trump agreed to work with his Russian "friends" to remove the sanctions in exchange for "something" for himself? What was he offered"? Some have suggested that it may have been a large percentage of all the profits from the oil discoveries in the North Sea and northern Russia, in exchange for lifting the sanctions?
For purposes of simplifying this complex story to its most basic level, we should begin with the Magnitsky Act. Congress voted to put sanctions on wealthy Russians by freezing billions of dollars of assets in this country. Russia countered by blocking adoptions of Russian children by interested parties in this country. The lifting of these sanctions became the paramount issue for Putin and the wealthy oligarchs. These sanctions had become a serious roadblock to their money-laundering operations in this country and around the world. Donald Trump is no stranger to how these illegal operations work.
Before Obama left office, he complicated the negotiations by placing additional sanctions on Russia.
In order to make a "deal", each side must have something they can give each other in the process of making the deal. All the secret meetings and all the lies by Trump associates were to further the process of making the Grand Deal for Donald J Trump. It was not to further the interests of the United States of America.
The unraveling of this "Grand Deal" began with the discovery of the phone conversations of General Michael Flynn with the Russian Ambassador, even before Trump had been sworn into office. That began the investigation into this unresolved scandal.
The latest story of the "Russian lawyer" meeting with Don Jr, Jared Kushner, Manafort, and others, is but a step in the process of negotiating the Grand Deal. Just as the meeting in the White House with the Russian Ambassador and their Foreign Minister. Just as was the long meeting between Putin and Trump at the G-20 meeting. All of these meetings were simply steps in the negotiations between Trump and Putin and the Russian oligarchs.
The most disturbing aspect of the entire sordid adventure is how everyone in the Administration, every spokesperson, has sworn loyalty to Donald Trump and his goal of negotiating this "great deal" with the Russians. Every "meeting" was just another step in the negotiations. Each step required each of the parties to show they were serious about completing the deal. They covered for each other. Putin complemented Trump and Trump never said anything unkind about Vladimir Putin. It is a mutual admiration society between them.
These stories about Jared Kushner and Don Jr are nothing but small pieces in the bigger puzzle. When the puzzle is completed, it will clearly show that every action and every meeting was to further the "Grand Deal" between Putin and Trump.
Don Jr and Kushner, as well as Sessions and Tillerson, are working to make the deal a reality for Donald Trump. That is the bigger picture. It is all tied together to reach that one desired result.
