"The only way this changes is if Democrats take the House. The end."

Joy Reid explains why the GOP will never leave Trump — and the only way we can change America

“This is a Republican Party that is built on resentment and a sense of victimhood, a sense of persecution, almost a persecution complex almost 40 years, 50 years, going back to the Civil Rights movement when they felt persecuted by the world,” Reid explained. “Donald Trump gets that – he gets them – he’s figured it out. He can make them accept anything.”

She went on to say that not only can he make the base of the GOP accept “literally anything,” he could collude with Iran next and the voters would defend it “and so would the elected officials… They all are now for collusion.”

Despite the blatant evidence brought on by the Donald Trump Jr. email, Reid predicts there will be zero action taken by the Republican Party.

“There are no heroes. There will be no heroes,” Reid said. “The only way this changes is if Democrats take the House. The end. If the Republicans control the House of Representatives and the Senate, Donald Trump will sit right there colluding in plain sight and laughing about it because, yes, he can get away with anything.”

Vote. Vote. Vote.

Drive people to the polls. Volunteer.

And if no one interferes....maybe we will take the House.

At this point, there has been NOTHING done to stem Russian influence on our elections and, most likely, with Republican Congressional support, they may have even expanded their efforts.

Our continued hope that we take back the House in is predicated on winning fair and square.

That seems to be a very naive point of view, knowing what we know.

Which is why I added it.

Everything we do depends on that if.

Because no matter how hard we work to get out the vote - unless that IF is removed, there is no winning back anything.

I think you're right about their efforts already being expanded. I believe their efforts never stopped.

In fact, I don't see any fair elections coming our way. Democrats will have to get in the trenches and fight dirty or they will surely fail to take the house.

... it's more than "winning fair and square." It has to be a landslide win for any Democratic candidate; a win so big that nobody can tamper with it. Think of it as the Democrat has to run 70 yards to get a touchdown and the Repig only 30 yards.

That or we get rid of electronic voting machines and utilize paper ballots exclusively. We use them in my state of Massachusetts.

I don't think the media even talks about this issue. It is taken as a given that elections are honest and can't be hacked. That's the story they have to sell to John Q Public.

There is too much money to be made selling electronic voting machines, plus whoever controls the ballot box controls the levers of power in the country. They are not going to give up that control without a fight.

Unfortunately, the earlier football analogy is right if not exaggerated.

It's more like 110 versus 90 yards, over suppression and gerrymandering, wins on the margin.

The biggest thing that caused Hillary the election was voter empathy in 3 states

we will see it diminished, if anything, even greater enthusiasm to be expected as american politics swerve away from right wing domination. Its up to each and every one of us to make it happen with our time and/or money.....

even a modest 5-6% swing in districts will give the democrats the House and possibly the Senate in 2018

It's too easy to say it's all hopeless. We have to work hard to make it happen, but I think historically high Dem turnout, combined with historically low Republican enthusiasm, are a real possibility in Nov. 2018.

They have to show up in 2018 or we're toast.

not voting at all and more rw propaganda , vote recruitment to whites to join the resentful and paranoid republicans and cash to make sure they vote. Does the party even have candidates or the money to go after all these seats ?? It's only a little over a year away. Even if trump goes I don't think repukes will jump ship of the party. I will do my part as I did last time in 16 to gotv.

I think when they see the collapse. There will run for the lifeboats.

The only chance to get something done, would be healthcare disguised as a lifeboat.

Takeover of the house is required for impeachment
